Personal background
I was born in Detroit, MI. My
husband and I moved to Phx in 1976. I have one daughter who lives
with her husband and 2 children in Los Angeles. I’ve been in the
Renewable Energy profession for 8+ years. When I’m not working I
like to donate my time to different organizations here in the Valley.
Currently I am on the Board of Directors for the Peoria Diamond Club
(PDC) Which is a 501© that is dedicated to supporting community
programs that educate and enrich children’s lives, while enhancing
their futures. In addition to Spring Training the PDC hosts special
events and programs throughout the year that raise funds for local
youth charities.
Professional Background Highlights & what I do
I have been in the sales profession for more than 45 years. I really enjoy being able to
help people, not just sell them something. Working with Luminous
Energy/Builders I am an energy consultant. We not only are the only
General Contractor in the state of AZ that installs solar, we do Energy
Efficiency products such as insulation, Duct work, Air Conditioning,
roofing and Energy Efficiency landscaping.
What I like most about doing business here.
The families I work with. Luminous Energy/Builders is a family owned company and have
been in business since 2000. Going with solar energy is the half way
point to going green. Luminous helps lower your energy consumption
before you start producing. Reduce before you Produce.
My interest hobbies.
I love to spend time with my family and travel.
This year for Thanksgiving we were in Brazil for 2 weeks. As a family we
like to experience other countries’ culture and traditions. As well as all the
history they have. I like to say the one really good habit I developed when
my daughter moved to LA almost 18 years ago is to visit for a few days
every 6 to 8 weeks. As I mentioned I like to volunteer my free time to
different organizations. I find it’s a good way to meet people as well as
giving back to the community. I’m also big on Networking, since I work with
many families, they often look to me to provide them with other good
companies that do business with homeowners. Such as painters, plumbers,
pool repair, etc. Networking puts me in touch with those resources that they
need.
People who inspire me and how.
Being associated with the PDC has opened my eyes to how many children need help in our communities.
Working with the different youth organizations has shown me the time and
effort they put in is inspiring to do more. There really are a lot of good
people that do a lot more than they give themselves credit for. AZ has
some very generous and kind people.
My advice to today’s youth.
You don’t ever really fail if you learned
something from the experience. ( Author unknown) And I really like the
advice my parents always reminded us of “there’s more joy in giving than
receiving.” My favorite of all is one of the magnets I have on my fridge is
from Michelangelo Buonarroti – The greatest danger for most of us is not
that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that is too low and we reach it.
